冬季車両準備ガイド
As temperatures drop and winter weather arrives, your car needs special preparation to handle snow, ice, and cold conditions. Don't wait until the first snowstorm leaves you stranded—prepare your vehicle now and drive safely through the winter season.
ESSENTIAL WINTER PREPARATIONS
These preparations will help ensure your safety and prevent costly breakdowns during winter driving.
1. Battery Check & Maintenance
Cold weather is hard on car batteries. Extreme temperatures can reduce battery life by up to 50%. Get your battery tested before winter arrives, especially if it's more than 3 years old.
Signs of a Weak Battery:
- Engine cranks slowly when starting
- Headlights dim when idling
- Electrical issues with accessories
- Battery is over 3 years old

2. Winter Tires Installation
All-season tires lose traction in cold, snowy conditions. Winter tires provide better grip and safety on ice and snow. They should have at least 6mm of tread depth and be properly inflated.
When to Switch to Winter Tires:
- Temperatures consistently below 7°C (45°F)
- Snow or ice on roads
- Before the first major winter storm

3. Antifreeze & Coolant Check
Ensure your coolant mixture is correct for winter temperatures. The proper ratio is typically 50/50 antifreeze to water, but check your owner's manual for your specific vehicle requirements.
What to Check:
- Coolant level in the reservoir
- Antifreeze concentration (use a hydrometer)
- Hoses for cracks or leaks
- Radiator for damage

EMERGENCY KIT PREPARATION
Winter driving requires special emergency supplies in case you get stuck in snow or have a breakdown.
